Color: Solid black, brown, fawn, grey, pale fawn, white or more or less pied.
General characteristics/temperament: Barbets are companionable, joyful, obedient, intelligent, and loyal. They excel as bird retrievers and hunters, but also make faithful companions and great family dogs. They have webbed feet and are excellent swimmers. The Barbet is an ancestral breed of many familiar breeds today, including the Poodle and Briard.
Good with children? Yes
Hypoallergenic? Usually considered good for allergy sufferers.
Intelligent? Yes
Grooming requirement: Minimal shedding if properly maintained. If not groomed, tufts of hair may come out.
