General characteristics/temperament: Beaucerons are gentle, fearless, agile, alert, energetic, self-assured, faithful, and possess great strength and endurance. They are reserved with strangers and have a natural instinct to guard their home and master. Beaucerons are obedient, intelligent, and possess an excellent memory and a strong desire to please their masters, making them easy to train. However, they can sometimes be independent, and do not tolerate harsh training methods. This is a very versatile breed that can excel in just about any sport or activity available to dogs with the right training.
