Life span: 11 to 13 years.

General characteristics/temperament: The Boston Terrier is intelligent, active, affectionatle, loyal, and gentle. They are generally well-mannered, easy to train, and easy to maintain, making them excellent companions and house pets. However, they are active and require a lot of time and attention, and must not be left outside without human contact. They do not tolerate extreme weather conditions and do best as inside dogs.

Suitable canine sports/activities: obedience, conformation, agility, flyball, therapy

Grooming requirement: Brush weekly. They do shed but since they have a short coat and do not have an undercoat, regular brushing will minimized the amount of shed hair in the home.

Known health problems: Cataracts, cherry eye, luxatin patellas, deafness, heart murmur, allergies.
