Color: Solid yellow, reddish tans, or brindle, with or without white markings.
General characteristics/temperament: The Fila Brasileiro is the National dog of Brazil. They are large and powerful, extremely agile and athletic, and very loyal and protective, making them excellent family or estate guardians. They are patient and gentle with their family, but do not like strangers and should never be left unattended with anyone they do not regard as part of their immediate family. They are not suitable for households which entertain guests frequently, as they do not interact well with strangers. They are not for first-time owners, and must be obedience trained and socialized extensively from early puppyhood so they do not become overly sensitive to external environmental stimuli.
