Color: Solid liver or a combination of liver and white such as liver and white ticked, liver patched and white ticked, or liver roan.
Life span: 10 to 12 years.
General characteristics/temperament: The German Shorthaired Pointer is friendly, intelligent, even-tempered, loyal, and willing to please. They are versatile hunters and are proficient with many different types of game and sport. They are athletic and have a keen enthusiasm for work. They have webbed feet and tend to be good swimmers. They require consistent exercise and thrive as part of an active family. If properly trained and socialized, they generally do well with and are protective of children, although an exuberant puppy might knock down small children.

Known health problems: Hip dysplasia, progressive retinal atrophy, cardiac problems, ectropian, epilepsy, cancer, ear infections.
