Size:
Height: males around 18 inches;
females around 16½ inches
Color: Shades of tan (ranging from cream to reddish brown), chocolate brown, gray, or black, with white markings; black tricolor or chocolate tricolor; white with patches of any of the above colors.
General characteristics/temperament: The Icelandic Sheepdog is hardy, agile, outgoing, cheerful, intelligent, inquisitive, playful, gentle, and courageous. They are quick learners and are eager to please. They are friendly and affectionate with both people and other dogs. They will bark a welcome to announce the arrival of visitors, but are not protective or aggressive.
