Color: Black, yellow, or chocolate.
Life span: 12 to 16 years.
General characteristics/temperament: The Labrador Retriever is kind, outgoing, gentle, intelligent, adaptable, and eager to please. They make an ideal sporting and family dog, and is one of the most popular breeds in the United States. Their versatility allows them to excel in many different canine activities and sports, and this breed is most commonly used as guide dogs. Most Labradors make adequate watchdogs and will alarm bark, but they are typically not reliable guadians because of their friendliness and most would be happy to help out burglars.
