Size: Height: males 17 to 18½ inches;

Color: Black or any shade of wheaten from pale cream to bright orange, with or without dark tipped hairs, and sometimes with small amounts of white.
General characteristics/temperament: The Norwegian Buhund is energetic, self confident, alert, lively, intelligent, and affectionate. They have a lot of stamina and strength, and love playing in the snow. They are extremely intelligent and are quick learners, and excel in many dog sports. They love people, especially children, and bond very strongly to their famly. They like to bark to communicate, and make an excellent watchdog. They are very active and must be given lots of exercise, playtime and attention.
