Color: Solid white, black, blue, gray, silver, brown, cafe-au-lait, apricot, or cream, sometimes showing varying shades of the same color.
Life span: 10 to 13 years.
General characteristics/temperament: The Poodle is dignified, very active, and intelligent. There are three size varieties, and they can adapt to almost any size living quarters. They are exceptionally smart and excel in obedience competition.

Exercise requirement: Daily walk and/or play session.
Grooming requirement: The Poodle is considered a minimal-shedding breed and tends to be better tolerated by allergy sufferers. However, they require professional grooming every six to eight weeks plus regular brushing. Show dogs require about 10 hours of brushing and grooming per week. Pet dogs are generally kept in a lower-maintenance clip.
Known health problems: Hip dysplasia, epilepsy, hypothyroidism, Addison's disease, gastric dilatation volvulus, Cushings syndrome, hepatitis, Legg-Calve-Perthes syndrome, patellar luxation, progressive retinal atrophy, von Willebrand's disease, sabaceous adenitis, cancer, ear infections, renal disease, cataracts.
