Color: Black, blue or brown tricolor; red, sable, lemon, or other colors with varying amounts of white spotting. There may be ticking in the white parts of the coat.
General characteristics/temperament: The Rat Terrier is cheerful, active, and intelligent. They are very trainable, and "easier" than other terrier breeds for the average pet owner. They require extensive socialization from an early age, and are happiest if given a lot of mental stimulation and exercise.
