Color: Dark blue, thickly mottled body, with by various shaped black spots, with or without tan markings and red ticking.
General characteristics/temperament: The Redbone Coonhound is even-tempered, fast, agile, and affectionate. They are versatile hunting dogs with the ability to handle all kinds of difficult terrain. They usually have webbed feet and are excellent swimmers. They like to please and make a good family dog as well. However, they are very vocal, and will frequently bark or bay, which may become a problem if there are neighbors in close proximity. They are able to jump very high, and require at least a 7-feet-high fence. They are slow to mature, but once they do, they are very gentle with even very young children.
