General characteristics/temperament: The Russell Terrier is lively, alert, active, bold, fearless, and friendly. They are working terriers with a strong hunting instinct, and are playful and very energetic. They are very devoted and loving with their family and make excellent companions as well. They thrive in an active family where they can spend lots of time outdoors together.
