Color: Solid white; white and orange; orange roan with or without orange markings; white with brown markings, brown roan with or without brown markings.
Life span: 8 to 12 years.
General characteristics/temperament: The Spinone Italiano is vigorous, robust, sociable, docile, patient, and affectionate. They are loving and gentle with children, and friendly with strangers. Their weather-resistant coat and thick skin enable them to hunt on any terrain. They have the stamina to trot all day, but don't run fast like most other hunting breeds. They make excellent jogging partners because they don't have the tendency to race ahead of the jogger. Gentle and sensitive, they respond best to positive training methods and do not tolerate harsh handling.
