Color: Solid golden rust in different shadings.
Life span: 12 to 15 years.
General characteristics/temperament: The Vizsla is lively, gentle, affectionate, sensitive, fearless, loyal, and protective. They have strong hunting and protective instincts, and are excellent swimmers as well. Trainable and great with children, they thrive as part of an active family. Because of their sensitive nature, they do not tolerate harsh treatments, but respond best to positive training methods. They are generally quiet, only barking when necessary. They need a lot of attention and exercise, or will otherwise become destructive or develop other behavioral problems. Ideally, they should have access to a large fenced area where they can safely run off-leash.
